Lindberg '34 Ford - 3 in 1 model kit.

Builder's Name: Mark Goodman

Photographer's Name: Mark Goodman

Date Picture Taken:  June, 2003

Project's Name- Model of Dick Dustin’s Ford pickup

Modeler's Notes:

This is a copy of Dick Dustin’s 1:1 truck that he drive to several car shows through out the region. I started out with the Lindberg 34 Ford kit and went from there. I weathered the truck by taking cheap primer, walnut (brown) and flat black spray paint and letting them “blend” together. (standing about 3” away from the model with two cans spraying at the  same time rotating colors as needed). While it was still tacky I sprinkled baking soda over the entire body to give it the right feel and after a brief dusting, shot the whole thing with Testors Dull Cote.

The Harley in the bed is a die-cast that I weathered with a brush and dull cote. The rest of the “junk” is just parts box pieces that have been weathered as well.

This truck draws more attention than the rest of the collection that I show. People see the 1:1 truck and then point it out right away when they see the model.

I have found that it’s harder to weather a model than it is to give one a nice paint job. The two cars in the back are also copies of 1:1 cars that are a part of the Losers Car Club of WI.
